Giving kids a fun, safe, and educational after school activity is central to our mission of bettering the lives of children in the Chicago region and instilling in them a passion for healthcare, medicine, nursing, and veterinary disciplines.\n<b>We can work closely with school districts, charter schools, and private learning institutions to customize a complementary curriculum which covers a wide swath of medical and scientific subjects:<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/littlemedicalschool.com\/chicagowest\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/104\/2020\/10\/afterschoool.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"300\" \/><br \/>\n<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding the tools that doctors use<\/li>\n<li>The human body and organ systems<\/li>\n<li>Nutrition and the science of eating<\/li>\n<li>Applying basic first aid and treating common sports injuries<\/li>\n<li>What pharmacists do and why medicine works<\/li>\n<li>Performing CPR and the Heimlich maneuver*<\/li>\n<li>Caring for pets and what to do in case of animal injuries<\/li>\n<li>Much, much more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All of our after school programs are taught by exemplary instructors who have passed our rigorous background check process, and who have experience with, and a natural love of teaching children. We&#8217;ll capture kids\u2019 imaginations with our interactive activities. They\u2019ll role play, work with models, develop skills, draw, think creatively, \u2026 and most importantly, they\u2019ll learn!<\/p>\n<p><i>*Our program does not offer CPR certification<\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Program Details<\/h2>\n<strong>Location<\/strong>: Programs are held at schools throughout the western Chicago suburbs.<br \/>\n<strong>Duration<\/strong>: Programs include 6 hours of instruction, in the following formats: six 1-hour classes, three 2-hour classes, one 6-hour class<br \/>\n<strong>Grades<\/strong>: Programs are designed for ages 4-14. A pre-reader curriculum is available.<br \/>\n<strong>Class Size<\/strong>: We require a minimum of 8 students per program. To ensure our instructors may provide personal attention to everyone, we recommend 8-12 students per session.
