Company Profile Of The Week: Little Medical School

How can you get children to aspire for careers in health care such as medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dental and veterinarian medicine? That’s the mission of the founder of Little Medical School, Mary Mason MD, MBA, FACP. Her innovative educational company creates mini-medical, nursing, pharmacy, dental and veterinarian school experiences for children ages 3-14. Through hands-on demonstrations, crafts and games, children are actively engaged as they explore the world of healthcare. A retail line of award-winning educaonal kits and products was launched in 2017, created in response to demand from family parcipants of the Lile Medical School locaons. A percentage of proceeds of the new line will be donated to the Dr. Genie’s Kids Foundaon. The Foundaon provides scholarships for children to be exposed to the many healthcare career paths. Dr. Mason is a mother of three, all of whom she proudly notes aended Lile Medical School! If clothes make the man, than a white lab coat and stethoscope around the neck of a 5-year-old will certainly make a child feel like their favorite pediatrician or veterinarian. My Heart and Lungs kit, available by Spring 2018, is full of kid-friendly worksheets, mazes, and word searches. In addion to the sturdy coat and stethoscope, there’s a 20-page workbook where prospecve physicians can design their own medical office! Now that’s forward thinking!

“The ‘mini-medical school journey’ for kids,” explains Dr. Mary Mason, founder of Little Medical School, “offers a wondrous array of fun and exciting props and activities through which children explore the world of medicine, science, health and role-playing.
