Little Medical School of Manhattan offers one-of-a-kind medical summer camps for kids in Manhattan and throughout the Metroplex. We take kids ages 4-12 through a hands-on exploration of the medical field, teaching the basics of healthcare and first aid, all about human organ systems, and how to respect and understand medicine.\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/north-texas\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2017\/06\/Depositphotos_13885686_original-1-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\n<p><b><i>Plus lots more!<\/i><\/b><b>\u00a0Through our programs they can learn:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All about the brain, spine, eyes, ears, skeleton and muscles<\/li>\n<li>What our bodies do with food and why we eat<\/li>\n<li>How to apply basic first aid<\/li>\n<li>How to read a prescriptions and how pharmacies work<\/li>\n<li>When and how to call poison control and dealing with poisonings<\/li>\n<li>How to perform CPR and the Heimlich maneuver*<\/li>\n<li>How to read X-Rays and treat broken bones<\/li>\n<li>Basic pet care, how to examine for ticks and simple suturing<\/li>\n<li>Even how a common surgery is performed!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each program is led by one or more of our passionate educators. At the end of every program, our &#8220;future doctors&#8221; get to take home their Doctor\u2019s Bag and keep all the fun activities they performed throughout the program. We even host an exciting graduation at the end of each program.<\/p>\n<p><i>*Our program does not offer CPR certification<\/i><\/p>\n<h2>Program Details<\/h2>\n<strong>Day Program:<\/strong>\u00a0LMS is a daytime activity and does not include overnight or away accommodations<br \/>\n<strong>Location:<\/strong>\u00a0Medical summer camps for kids are held throughout the Manhattan Metroplex<br \/>\n<strong>Duration:<\/strong>\u00a0Programs include 6 hours of instruction, in the following formats: six 1-hour classes, three 2-hour classes, one 6-hour class<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong>\u00a0Programs are designed for ages 4-12. A pre-reader curriculum is available.<br \/>\n<strong>Camp Size:<\/strong>\u00a0We require a minimum of 8 campers to book a summer program. To ensure our instructors may provide personal attention to everyone, we recommend 8-12 campers per session. For larger groups, we will provide multiple instructors and separate the group into smaller classes.\n<h3>Two Ways to Register<\/h3>\n<p>There are two ways to register for a Little Medical School of Manhattan summer program.<\/p>\n<h3>1. Create Your Own!<\/h3>\n<p>Little Medical School is one of the only summer programs in Manhattan that will come to you! If you have a youth group of at least 8 students, we can create a Custom Program just for your group.
