SUMMARY:Little Pediatrician School at Farmington Elementary
DESCRIPTION:Getting ready for a new sibling?\nAfter “adopting” their own plush baby\, students will role-play the key responsibilities of a pediatrician and learn how to perform a head-to-toe exam on a newborn. These future pediatricians will learn about diapering\, diaper rash\, bottling\, burping\, the infant Heimlich maneuver\, childhood immunizations\, and safe sleeping. Students will take home a disposable white coat\, a luxury plush baby\, an exclusive mini Baby Box® for safe sleeping\, activity sheets and a birth certificate\, and much more! \nThis is an experience full of STEM-based learning\, activities\, and crafts.  \nOur teachings are based on STEM principles. We aim to ignite the passion of future healthcare heroes and get them excited about how the body works\, as well as the importance of health! Your child will return home with materials to show you what they learned. Of note\, all the necessary materials for each class are provided to students. At the end of the session\, the program ends with an informal graduation ceremony where each student receives a personalized diploma.  \nBoard-certified physicians and experts in the field of child education have collaborated to write our curriculum. Our instructors are well-trained and they have an interest in health sciences and education. They will deliver fun\, engaging\, and interactive content. Additionally\, all our instructors are background checked.  \nYour kid will make new friends as teamwork\, role-playing and collaboration are key parts of our activities. Your child will have an unforgettable time filled with lots of fun\, fun…and fun!   \nAbout the location \nFarmington Elementary is a top-performing public school located in the heart of Germantown\, Tennessee serving approximately 585 students in preschool through fifth grade. Therefore\, we are happy to partner with Farmington Elementary for this program! \n\n\n\nSafety procedures \nKeeping in mind the safety of our children\, staff\, and volunteers\, we follow applicable public health guidelines. All children are expected to abide by the safety rules in class. With this in mind\, before beginning our sessions\, our team sets safety expectations with kids if needed. These include but are not limited to the following:  \n\nActivity safety rules \nPlaytime safety rules \nOutdoor rules \n\nFor ages 5-11. This program will take place on Wednesdays\, once a week for 6 weeks. This program is open to the public. Have a question? They currently serve over 1\,200 students and pride themselves on fostering a culture of collaboration not only in the classroom but also seeks to involve the whole school community. Therefore\, we are happy to partner with Riverdale School for this program! \n\n\n\nSafety procedures \nKeeping in mind the safety of our children\, staff\, and volunteers\, we follow applicable public health guidelines.
