SUMMARY:Little Medical School – Future Doctor at Riverdale Elementary School
DESCRIPTION:Calling all doctors! \nKids will learn all about becoming a doctor through engaging hands-on activities in this unique summer camp. These future doctors will learn the anatomy and functions of the heart and lungs\, what is in a doctor’s bag\, and more. Students will go home with models\, worksheets\, and their own stethoscopes! We will begin with a white coat ceremony and end with a graduation ceremony.  \nThis is an experience full of STEM-based learning\, activities\, and crafts.  \nOur teachings are based on STEM principles. We aim to ignite the passion of future healthcare heroes and get them excited about how the body works\, as well as the importance of health! Your child will return home with materials to show you what they learned. Of note\, all the necessary materials for each class are provided to students. At the end of the session\, the program ends with an informal graduation ceremony where each student receives a personalized diploma.  \nBoard-certified physicians and experts in the field of child education have collaborated to write our curriculum. Our instructors are well-trained and they have an interest in health sciences and education. They will deliver fun\, engaging\, and interactive content. Your child will have an unforgettable time filled with lots of fun\, fun…and fun!   \nAbout the location \nRiverdale School is a PreK-8th grade school located in Germantown\, Tennessee\, east of the city limits of Memphis. They currently serve over 1\,200 students and pride themselves on fostering a culture of collaboration not only in the classroom but also seeks to involve the whole school community. Therefore\, we are happy to partner with Riverdale School for this program! \nSafety procedures \nKeeping in mind the safety of our children\, staff\, and volunteers\, we follow applicable public health guidelines. All children are expected to abide by the safety rules in class. With this in mind\, before beginning our sessions\, our team sets safety expectations with kids if needed. SUMMARY:Med School 4 Teens-Kind Science Frog Dissection at Sacred Heart
DESCRIPTION:Calling all doctors! \n24 high school students will compare the differences between frog and human anatomy. Students will identify and describe the organs inside a synthetic frog model\, gaining an in-depth understanding of these structures and the bodily processes in\nwhich they are involved. In a warm-up lab\, students will talk through the ethical issues related to dissecting real animals\, to help them learn about the benefits of animal-free research and understand the role that ethics plays in scientific methods. This is a PETA – Teach Science Program: Kind Frog. \nThis is an experience full of STEM-based learning\, activities\, and crafts.  \nOur teachings are based on STEM principles.
