Little Medical School 1 – Tools, Heart, Lungs & More

All kids love to dress up and play doctor. This fun, fascinating and thoroughly educational program lets them take it to a whole other level. Over six hours of interactive instruction, kids will have a chance to learn about and use common doctor’s tools, how air flows through the lungs, what happens to food when we eat and how the heart works. They’ll even get to listen to a heartbeat using their own personal working stethoscope, which they get to take home at the end of the course!

This course was designed by a team of board-certified physicians and is led by a trained and background-checked instructor passionate about sharing their medical knowledge with young and aspiring “doctors to be.” When your child receives his or her diploma on graduation day, they’ll beam with pride and be ready to teach you everything they’ve learned.

CIRRICULUM

Class 1: What’s in the Doctor’s Bag

Students learn to use real instruments doctors use daily including a blood pressure cuff, a reflex hammer and stethoscope. They even get their own working stethoscope to keep!

Class 2: All About the Heart

Students learn the anatomy of the heart, how it functions and get to listen using their own stethoscope

Class 3: All About the Lungs

Students get up and moving to learn how air enters/exits the body and how oxygen exchange happens.

Class 4: Digesting Digestion

Learn about the organs of digestion. Through an interactive exercise, students learn what happens when their bodies digest food.

Class 5: Is there a Surgeon in the House?

A face mask and gloves will make students feel like real surgeons as they learn to scrub in, suture and tie knots!

Class 6: Review and Graduation

A fun medical review, learn the steps to become a doctor! Students take the Little Medical School oath, graduate and receive a diploma.

Little Medical School 2 – First Aid, Wonderful Brain, “That Is Gross!”, Spine, Pharmacy & More

Young aspiring doctors will find their passions come alive in this fun educational journey through the medical profession. In this six-hour course, kids will learn the importance of first aid and how to respond to common minor injuries. They’ll also build their own model brain to take home, learn about the spine and learn how to read a prescription. Plus, this course includes the kid favorite, “That Is Gross,” in which they learn all about gas and mucus and even make homemade snot!

This course was designed by a team of board-certified physicians and is led by a trained and background-checked instructor passionate about sharing their medical knowledge with our students. Watch your child beam with pride when he or she earns a diploma on graduation day!

CIRRICULUM

Class 1: First Aid

Students will learn how to respond when first aid is needed for scrapes, burns and cuts. They will even create their own take home first aid kit!

Class 2: The Wonderful Brain!

Students will learn key facts including how our amazing brain works, and they get to build their own model of the brain.

Class 3: That is Gross!

Students will learn what gas is and why we burp; about mucus and boogers and get to make their own take home snot.

Class 4: Your Spine is Fine!

Students will learn about what the vertebral spine does, the different levels and even get to make a spine model.

Class 5: Pharmacy!

Students will learn what a prescription is and what information it needs to contain. They will gain an understanding of some math concepts in pharmacy, how pharmacists dispense medications and even practice writing their own prescriptions like a real doctor.

Class 6: Medical Fun and Graduation

We will discuss key medical concepts and vocabulary, learn about becoming a doctor, plan their own hospital, take the LMS oath and graduate with a diploma!

Little Medical School 3 – Eye, Ears, CPR & X-Rays!

Students will be immersed in an exploration of the senses in this fascinating course by Little Medical School. Over six hours of interactive instruction, kids will have fun building their own model eye and learning how the eye reacts to light. They will also make a model eardrum and discover how ears interpret sound into hearing. They’ll also receive an introduction to CPR and the Heimlich maneuver, learn to recognize bone fractures on an X-ray and even splint a broken bone.

CURRICULUM

Class 1: The Exciting Eye!

Learn to name parts of the eye, learn about reaction to light as well as how the lens focuses light. They even make a model of an eye!

Class 2: Did You Hear That?!

Students learn how the ear turns noises into hearing, about ear infections and hearing loss. They also get to make a model eardrum!

Class 3: CPR and Heimlich Maneuver!

Students get an introduction to how to perform CPR as well as saving someone who is choking with the Heimlich maneuver.

Class 4: Food is Fuel!

Students learn how to read a food label and understand serving sizes. They learn how the body gets energy from food as well as understanding the link between body weight and disease!

Class 5: Broken Bones!

Students learn some different types of broken bones and recognize them on X-rays! They even get to practice casting and splinting!

Class 6: Review and Graduation

Discuss key concepts and vocabulary. Learn about becoming a doctor and design your own office. Graduate with a diploma.
