MEET OUR PASSIONATE INSTRUCTORS

Little Medical School of Dallas Fort Worth programs are taught by knowledgeable instructors with a lifelong love of teaching children and sharing their experiences of the medical industry. Most of our instructors are pre-medical and medical students, pre-nursing students and Registered Nurses, all with a gift for the classroom and a natural rapport with excited young students.

All of our instructors and volunteer instructors must pass a rigorous background check and are extensively trained in Little Medical School programs and methodology.

Alec Giron

I am a UT Arlington graduate with a B.S. in clinical exercise science, and am currently working towards medical school! I have a strong background with teaching kids from 6 years of coaching tumbling, gymnastics, and cheerleading. I’ve always had such a passion for encouraging youth to reach for new goals and see them succeed in what they work towards! That, combined with my love for medicine, led to my excitement for being a Little Medical School instructor!
Ady Chi

Hello everyone! My name is Ady and I’m a premed student at the University of Texas at Dallas. I aspire to be a pediatrician as I absolutely adore kids! I’ve babysat, assisted in guiding kids at a therapy clinic, and worked at a retail clothing store for young girls. Those experiences, combined with my love for children and medicine, pushed me to join this inspiring group of instructors at Little Medical School! I believe that each child is unique and I hope to lead each one in the best way possible. I am also CPR/BLS certified. During my free time, I enjoy dancing at nearby studios, volunteering in the community, and traveling around the globe! I’m very excited to be a part of this team and I can’t wait to meet all of you!
Alfredo Octavio Zarraga

Hello everyone, I hope you all find yourselves doing fantastic! I am ecstatic to be a part of this spectacular team! I am a current senior at the University of Texas at Dallas set to graduate May 2018 with a double degree in Neuroscience and Biology as well as a minor in Public Health. I have also worked as a medical scribe for over 2 years and currently volunteer at a community health clinic in Downtown Dallas. I plan to take a gap year to teach and continue to volunteer while also studying for the MCAT and applying to medical school. I knew since I was little kid that I wanted to be a doctor and that’s why I made the decision to work for this company. The STEM outreach done in the classroom ignites the passion for our youth to pursue a career in the medical field. I have previous experience working with kids through volunteering as a camp counselor for children with different medical illnesses. During my free time, I enjoy reading, doing origami, listening to music, running, and going to local coffee shops in the DFW area.
Angela Gallardo

My name is Angela Gallardo and I am very excited to be a part of the Little Medical School team. I graduated with a B.S. in Biology from TCU in May 2017. As part of my journey to medical school, I also earned a master’s degree in medical sciences from UNT Health Science Center in May 2018. I am passionate about teaching and serving our community’s youth. My experience with children includes working as a summer camp counselor, tutoring science, teaching at my church’s Sunday School and volunteering at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. I love the wonder and curiosity that children have about the world around them. I am so excited to help our Little Medical School students discover the world of healthcare and science!
Ashley Kurian

Hey Everyone! My name is Ashley Kurian and I am currently a sophomore at UT Dallas.
I am beyond excited to be working at Little Medical School and share my passion with kids that have the same dreams! I love spending time with kids and have lots of experience working with kids from Pre-K till High school. I am currently a volunteer at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital and worked at science camps since high school. My favorite part about being with kids is that they love to learn new things and have creative imaginations. Besides my passion to inspire kids, my favorite hobbies are playing volleyball and cooking.
Daniela Mosquera

Howdy Everyone! My name is Daniela Mosquera and I am very excited to be part of this wonderful team! I will soon be receiving my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology & Chemistry from Texas Woman’s University, and hope to continue this journey in medical school. Since I can remember, science has been a big part of my life and it’s always a joy to share this enthusiasm with others. It’s a wonderful idea to engage children with STEM programs because we need scientists, mathematicians, engineers, and health professionals. I’m very excited to meet your little ones and introduce them to the wonders of science, medicine, and anatomy. I look forward to creating a fun and comfortable learning environment for everyone!
DeQuadra Guidry

My name is DeQuadra, and I am 24 years old. I recently moved from Baytown, Texas (suburb of Houston) to Denton, Texas to attend school at Texas Woman’s University. I obtained my Associates Degree in Natural Science at Lee College in 2015. I am currently pursuing my Bachelors Degree of Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I aspire to be a Pediatrician in the future because I love kids, I want them to be healthy, and because they will be our future doctors.
Dorsa Mir Norouzi

Hello! I am currently pursuing my B.S in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas and I hope to one day work as a bioengineer for NASA. I have worked with children of all ages for most of my life and I am currently a nanny and a private tutor. I love the field of Biomedical Engineering because it allows for a more in-depth and critical view of modern medicine! I am excited to use my knowledge and experiences to show these children how truly wonderful the STEM field can be. In my free time, I like to watch movies, play with my dog, and read.
Eileen Mata

Hey y’all! My name’s Eileen Mata and I am currently a sophomore at the University of Texas at Dallas. I am majoring in Cognitive Science, focusing on psychology and neuroscience, while minoring in Child Development. My ultimate career goal is to give back to my community and help build it up. I am passionate about education and STEM, so the Little Medical School is a perfect fit for me! I love kids and have worked with toddlers to high school graduates from all different backgrounds, teaching, tutoring, and encouraging. Getting children interested in the medical field at such a young age is so important and stimulating, it’s why I’m still in the science field today! As a lifelong learner myself, I love teaching and watching children grow. I am very excited to be a part of the Little Medical School team.
Emily Jennings

Hi everyone! I'm Emily and I am so excited to be apart of the team! I am a student currently at North Central Texas College! I want to become a nurse and I've always loved working with children! I currently work in the emergency department and always enjoy seeing kids come in to cheer them up! I'm always been a leader and wanted to be a teacher when I was young, so this will be a great opportunity! I'm excited to work with your children in teaching them all of the awesome things in the medical field! I look forward to having a fun and comfortable work environment to explore minds and reach out to kids about science!
Felisha Pham

I am a 2018 Texas Woman’s University graduate with a B.S. in Biology and minors in General Science and Human Resource Management. My goal is to become a pharmacist and pursue research in pediatric oncology. I have volunteered and shadowed in a few pediatric facilities and hospitals. I am so excited to be a part of the Little Medical School, inspiring and teaching children about STEM fields!
Garrett Williams

Howdy Everyone! My name is Garrett and I’m so excited to be a part of this team at Little Medical School North Texas! Currently, I am heading into my sophomore year at Texas A&M University where I’m studying Applied Exercise Physiology (Kinesiology). My goal is to go to med school after I graduate in 2021. I love working with kids, whether it be through coaching them in baseball or just hanging out and having fun with them. I have a strong passion for medicine and I can’t wait to share that passion with my students!
Haylee Carlson

Hi! I am a nursing student in the University of Texas-Arlington’s accelerated program. Long term, I would like to continue my education and work as a Nurse Practitioner in trauma and critical care. I have experience working in Neurology, Emergency and Orthopedic Surgical units. I also have experience working in before/after school programs, directing day camps and various other programs working with all ages. When I have free time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, running with my two dogs, watching Disney movies and reading unique emergency room medical stories in my hammock.
I am so excited to be a part of Little Medical School and I look forward to meeting you and your kiddos. I’m honored to be able to help them learn how awesome medicine is and about the endless possibilities that await!
Heather Hossaini

I am a senior at UT Dallas getting degree in Biology with a minor in Public Health. I am originally from Los Angeles, California and came to Texas to go to school. I have interests in music, public health, medicine, fitness, and nutrition. I intend to pursue a Medical degree as well as a Masters degree in public health. I would like to work in a rural area giving medical attention to those who need it most. I love volunteering with local hospitals, clinics, and shelters. During my free time I love to read, spend time with my family, go shopping, and volunteer.
Hooriya Sulaiman

Hello there! I am Hooriya Sulaiman. I graduated with a Bachelor's in Biochemistry & Genetics from Texas A & M University in May 2017. I am currently preparing to start a post Bachelors premed program and meanwhile doing some volunteering. From the time I can remember, I have always wanted to be a physician and I was very excited to be a part of Little Medical School where I get to share my passion for medicine with the young aspiring minds. I have been tutoring for 8+ years now and I tutor students k-12 and some college level chemistry. I love teaching and have volunteered as Assistant teacher in an elementary school and loved working with kids. I love medicine and I love teaching and I got an opportunity to combine both when I became an Instructor for Little Medical School!
Iris Hamilton

Hello! I am currently a premed student at the University of Texas at Dallas majoring in Biology. I have had a passion for medicine since a fairly young age, and my career goal is become an Emergency Medicine physician. In my free time, I enjoy tutoring elementary students in English, math, and science. I also volunteer in the Trauma Department at Methodist Hospital in Dallas. I wish there was an opportunity like the Little Medical School around when I was a elementary student, and I am very excited to work with children who have the same enthusiasm as I do!
Jaicey Thomas

Hello! I am currently a pre-med student at UT Dallas majoring in Healthcare Studies. I love being around children and sharing my passion for medicine, so I strive to become a Pediatrician in the future which has a mix of both! Medicine is not an area that children are exposed to often, so when I heard of Little Medical School, it immediately grabbed my interest, and I knew this was the perfect place for me to be a part of. In the past, I have been an instructor at science summer camps as well as being a research assistant in rheumatology and nuclear medicine at VA Medical Center. During my free time, I volunteer at the Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. My hobbies include playing basketball, travelling, and playing with kids! I am very excited to join Little Medical School to help children explore the fields of medicine in a fun and exciting way.
Jasmine Mitchell, RN

I am a Registered Nurse currently working in a local Emergency Department who enjoys sharing my knowledge of the healthcare field that brings me so much joy. In addition to my Associate of Arts degree in Teaching, I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University. I have certifications in basic life support, advanced life support, and pediatric advanced life support. I had the pleasure of working with elementary age school children while obtaining my Teaching degree and am truly passionate about health education and the field of medicine.
Jerril Jacob

Hello Everyone! My name is Jerril Jacob and I am a senior at UTD pursuing a B. S. in Biology and a minor in Neuroscience. Teaching has always been my passion ever since high school and I have continued to do that through my various extracurricular activities. I am excited to be a part of the Little Medical School team where I can combine my passion for medicine along with teaching to foster learning and interest about science and the human body in the children. In my free time, I enjoy playing the piano and sports with my friends.
Joey Driver

I am currently studying at the University of Texas at Dallas and will graduate in Fall 2018 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Criminology. I am a State and National-certified EMT, a National-certified CNA and am fully CPR trained. Teaching has long been a passion of mine as a 1st grade Sunday School instructor at FBC Allen. When I’m not studying (which isn’t often), my hobbies and interests include exercise, cars, watches, investing and emergency medicine. I also enjoy viewing and learning about visual arts from any time period.
JohnPaul Gura

Hey ya’ll! My name is JohnPaul Gura and I am a Junior Biology student at TWU. I was born and raised in the great state of Texas. I used to work with kids a Kumon math and reading center, but now I am ecstatic to be teaching about a topic I enjoy tenfold more. I love spending time with and teaching kids because I feel that they teach me a lot about different things in life while I am teaching them. My hobbies including biking, video games, and learning!
Juliana Wilson

Hi Everyone! My name is Juliana Wilson and I am so thrilled to be a part of the Little Medical School of North Texas team. I graduated in 2015 with a Biology degree from Texas Christian University and am currently pursing my 2nd Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at the University of Texas - Arlington. From a very young age I knew I wanted to work in some area of the medical field, so I am especially excited about the opportunity to share my passion and inspire children to follow those same aspirations. I love children and have experience working with and mentoring children of all ages, especially those with special needs. Long term, I hope to specialize in Pediatric Oncology Nursing as it is an area very near and dear to my heart. In my free time I like to spend time with family and friends and enjoy the outdoors.
Julie Koo

Hi! My name is Julie, and I am passionate about education and medicine. When I learned about The Little Medical School and their commitment to teaching children about healthcare and science, I knew it was a cause that I wanted to be a part of and help grow. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Biology from Texas Woman’s University and previously taught AP, IB, and general chemistry in Carrollton/Farmers Branch. I also private tutor elementary through college aged students in math and science. My hobbies include spending time with my dog, Bailey (she’s a mutt – she is half awesome, half terrific); exercise; buying things I don’t need on Amazon; arts and crafts (specifically, paper goods); and reading.
Kate Sampson

I am a senior at University of North Texas studying Biology with a minor in Chemistry, with a goal of becoming an Emergency Room physician. Since June of 2016, I have been working in the emergency room as a medical scribe. My passion for encouraging and caring for youth began when working as a babysitter in my teens. This passion grew as I coached and mentored youth girls’ volleyball. I am excited to join the Little Medical School to encourage children to explore opportunities in the medical field in a fun and exciting environment. My hobbies include cooking, travel and volunteering.
Katie Hunt

Hello! My name is Katie and I am excited to share my passion for learning about medicine with you! I am originally from Michigan, and I received my Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan in May of 2015. After that, I moved to Texas and got my Master’s degree in Applied Cognition and Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas. During my time at UTD, I spent a year working in a neuropharmacology research laboratory at the Center for Brain Health in Dallas. I am currently in a pre-medical post-baccalaureate program at UTD and I work as a mental health technician in a psychiatric hospital. My end goal is to attend medical school and eventually go into either neurology or psychiatry.
Kathy Tennison

I am an educator with an obsession for medicine. Health sciences have always been of interest to me. I am excited to merge my two passions; education and medicine. I have a long history of working with young children. As a preschool teacher, I have perfected my ability to teach children by keeping my curriculum fun and exciting. I am always searching for new ways to keep the students both intrigued and fascinated. I am excited to be a part of the Little Medical School, educating and inspiring our future health professionals
Kayla Miller

Hello everyone! My name is Kayla Miller. I am a junior at UTD majoring in Biology and minoring in Sociology. I am planning to work in emergency medicine after I graduate and have been hoping to work in healthcare since I was little. I’m so excited to get to teach other future doctors! I’ve been a part of the UTeach program at UTD, so have gotten some experience in teaching science to kids. I love teaching and sharing my excitement about health sciences. I can’t wait to meet all of you!
Lauren Falcon

Hi, I'm Lauren! I have previously attended the University of Texas in Austin for a neurobiology B.S. where I assisted in research regarding the neuroscience of alcohol addiction and cell signaling. Currently, I work as a medical scribe in the emergency room and I'm working to be accepted into medical school. I am very excited to be a part of Little Medical School because I love working with and teaching children about the wonders of science. I have been a BioLab volunteer at the Perot museum and a coach of a few youth volleyball and soccer teams.
Mabel Thai

Hi everyone! I am an undergraduate biochemistry major on the pre-medical track at the University of Texas at Dallas. My primary interest in the medical field is emergency medicine, and I’ve had the wonderful experience of participating in four years of Texas state and a national level competition for first response medicine. I hope to attend medical school upon completing my biochemistry B.S. and continue on to become an emergency room doctor. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to teach young children in the past as a martial arts instructor, and now I’m looking forward to sharing my interest in medicine with other kids and making a difference in their lives! Outside of my academic commitments, I enjoy playing ice hockey in my free time.
Muzna Noman

Hi! My name is Muzna Noman and I am currently a pre med student at UT Dallas majoring in Healthcare Studies, and am also working towards my goal of attending medical school! I am incredibly excited to join the Little Medical School team and share my passion of medicine and science with children who have the same ambitions as I did. I have previously taught at the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Wylie as well as coached and participated in Science Olympiad. I have also volunteered with Helping Hand for Relief and Development- Dallas, Baylor Scott and White, and AMWPA (American Muslim Women Physicians Association). In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, watch cheesy k-dramas, explore the city, and research.
Nikki Barker, RN

I am a Registered Nurse with a B.S. in Nursing from East Central University in Oklahoma. I have extensive experience training and precepting nurses who are entering the emergency field and have treated and interacted frequently with children in medical emergency situations. I worked as a CNA for 2 years and as an ER tech for 4 years. I am CPR-certified and a former CPR instructor, and I am in a Nurse Practitioner program. I love this opportunity to teach others, share my love of medicine and wellness, and give back to the healthcare community.
Nikita Renji

My name is Nikita and I am a student at the University of Texas at Dallas, majoring in Healthcare Studies. My dream is to become a medical missionary and help the less fortunate. I have been to Cambodia for a medical mission trip, and I currently volunteer at Scottish Rite hospital.I love working with kids, as I have experience working with them during children’s church, and I am very excited to work with the kids at Little Medical School. This is such a great opportunity for kids who are interested in healthcare, and I wish I had something like this when I was a kid! My hobbies include singing and playing piano, and during my free time I like to spend time with my family and friends, and watch K-dramas!
Olivia Arratia

Hello everyone! My name is Olivia Arratia and I am a student at Texas Women's University. I am studying to obtain my B.F.A. I have a love for teaching and have been educating children since 2013. I am currently an educator in the DFW area for children grades pre-K through 12th grade. Although my specialty is in art, I have a passion for medical teachings and science. My goal is to inspire the students of Little Medical School to become future medical professionals.
Peter Pham

I am currently senior at the University of Texas at Dallas and am pursuing a double degree in Electrical Engineering and Biology. I plan to graduate May 2018 and take a gap year before attending medical school. My experiences as a mentor with Big Brother Big Sister, a camp counselor with Camp Summit, and a babysitter has shaped my desire to see children flourish as they grow up. Whether it’s helping a child understand a complex topic or guiding them in the right direction to reach a life goal, I always find a genuine satisfaction in knowing they are one step closer to success. This, in conjunction with my goal of one day becoming a medical doctor, has led me to become a part of the Little Medical School team.
Pratima Bhandari

Hello everyone! My name is Pratima Bhandari. I am currently in my senior year at Texas Women's University. I am pursing my Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences. I am very excited to be a part of the Little Medical School team. I love working with kids as they are cute and always curious and trying to know new things. I look forward to helping these wonderful kids learn about the magic of science. I hope to excite them with a good learning environment.
Saira Tabassam

Hi! My name is Saira and I am thrilled to be a part of an amazing team at Little Medical School! I currently attend Texas Woman’s University where I am working towards my Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I am a Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) as well as Medical Billing/Coding and CPR/BLS certified. I have completed an EMT-B course which is where I got most of my healthcare exposure. Throughout various clinical settings, I discovered that I hold a deep-rooted passion for healthcare and I enjoy talking about what I have learned. In my free-time, I love to paint, draw, and do all sorts of crafts. My experience with children goes back to when I taught a Pre-K class for Sunday school, worked on the Fun Bus, and raised my younger siblings. Throughout all those experiences, I found a passion for teaching, interacting, and working with children. My main goal for the classroom is to inspire others and make everything fun as well as engaging!
Scott Stone

I am a student currently attending Texas Woman’s University where I am finishing up my final year of basics before nursing school. I have an extensive background working with kids, from working in my mother’s classroom as a TA to teaching Sunday School at my church for the past 8 years. I’ve always enjoyed teaching and getting to know each of my students. Now I have the opportunity to inspire future doctors, nurses, and veterinarians. I enjoy everything about medicine and the medical field and hope to share that passion for medicine with each of my students!
Shabee Ali

Hi! I am currently a junior at The University of Texas at Dallas. I am a pre-med pursuing a Neuroscience degree with the goal of going to medical school. I have always enjoyed working with children, combining it with my love for medicine makes Little Medical School the perfect place for me! I also volunteer at Medical City Plano and Texas Child Neurology every week to fulfill my passion for healthcare. I am excited to teach these kids what I loved learning growing up!
Shauna Nguyen

Hello, my name is Shauna Nguyen and I’m a current student at TWU in Denton. I’m in my last semester of studying Medical Technology and Chemistry. I hope to work behind the scenes of a hospital in a lab. I’ve always had a passion for the sciences and anything medical. I can’t wait to share this passion with a younger generation to hopefully get them as excited! In my free time I like to stay active by going to the gym and exercising with my dog. In the future I hope to get my teaching certification to teach STEM courses in high school or community college.
Syeda Najam Us Sahar

Hello! My name is Syeda Najam us Sahar and I am a pre-med student at University of Texas at Dallas, pursuing a B.S. in Neuroscience. I am so excited to be a part of the Little Medical School team where I can share my passion of working with children and medicine to inspire our future generation. Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to pursue a career where I got the chance to change people’s lives for the better. In school, I realized that it would be through medicine that I would be able to bring health and happiness in to people’s lives. I am currently a volunteer at Presbyterian and in the past I have conducted clinical research within the Emergency Department at Parkland Hospital. I cannot wait to work with these kids and teach them about the impact they will make with their knowledgeable and creative minds!
Tamanna Hoque

Hello! My name is Tamanna and I am so excited to be a part of Little Medical School! My passion for education and children took root in college, where I organized spelling bee competitions and science fairs through the local Boy’s and Girl’s Club. I went to Texas A&M University and majored in Nutrition. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Science degree in Neuroscience at UTD and working as a MCAT and SAT instructor for Kaplan. I have also worked as a scribe in the ER for more than two years. Education and love for science have been a huge part of my life. I would love to share that passion with students at Little Medical School through some exciting and fun activities! In my free time, I love exploring new cuisines and hole in the wall food joints in Dallas. I am also an aspiring yogi and like to explore new cities whenever I get a chance. So far I have added Toronto, Frankfurt, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Nottingham, and Manchester to my list. Looking forward to exploring Athens and Barcelona this year!
Tender Dear

I am a Texas Tech graduate with a BA in Public Relations. I took the long road to get back into medicine (I was a trainer in high school and loved it). It took about 10 years in corporate America before I realized the impact I wanted to make in the world was going to be through nursing. I am currently taking sciences courses at Collin College while applying for nursing school. I work in the ER registering patients and learning as much as possible from the nurses, doctors and patients themselves. I enjoy teaching through hands on activities and getting kids involved in what they’re learning. I am excited to be part of Little Medical School to help encourage young doctors, scientists, nurses, and veterinarians.
Tiffany Jackowski

Hello future medical professionals! My name is Tiffany Jackowski and I am a senior at Texas Woman’s University. I am about to finish up my degree in biology with a minor in chemistry and family studies. As a young girl I always dreamed of being a teacher but once I got to college I grew more and more interested in medicine! I am now working towards attending medical school and working in pediatrics. I have worked with children for many years including volunteering at church, working as a daycare teacher, babysitting, and assisting at an elementary school. I have a true passion for children and look forward to showing them the amazing world of medicine!

Hello! I am a pre-med student at the University of Dallas majoring in Neuroscience. I am so excited to be working with Little Medical School. I have always been interested in the medical field and love sharing my passion with others. I love teaching children because they are so curious to learn and soak up everything like sponges. Vincent Hong

I have a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Dallas and have worked in emergency rooms as a medical scribe. I’ve had experience teaching kids of various ages in both private and classroom settings. I have taught Algebra 1 & 2 at a Chinese sunday school and math at a private tutoring institution. I also had one semester in university teaching physics at an elementary school. I have also enjoyed and had a passion for teaching children.
