Family Literacy Campout with Collierville Library
Let’s get ready to learn about pests in the outdoors!
Throughout the evening, families will be invited to explore the different stations around the library. For each station they participate in, they receive a stamp on their card. Once they get all the stamps, they can get a “s’mores” in the Storytelling Room. Little Medical School MidSouth’s station will cover the topic of bug bites! Kids will learn how to treat bug bites and receive materials to build their own mosquito repellent following our recipe.
This is an experience full of STEM-based learning, activities, and crafts.
Our teachings are based on STEM principles. We aim to ignite the passion of future healthcare heroes and get them excited about how the body works, as well as the importance of health! Your child will return home with materials to show you what they learned. Of note, all the necessary materials for each class are provided to students. At the end of the session, the program ends with an informal graduation ceremony where each student receives a personalized diploma.
Board-certified physicians and experts in the field of child education have collaborated to write our curriculum. Our instructors are well-trained and they have an interest in health sciences and education. They will deliver fun, engaging, and interactive content. Additionally, all our instructors are background checked.
