They will practice doing a tip to tail cat health assessments, assess a cat’s body condition score, understand cat body language, learn about cat anatomy, about their domestic life and how to have a calmer cat. In this 8-week program, they will learn about cat anatomy such as the digestion, brain, about blood, practice suturing like a surgeon, learn about the immune system and vaccinations, and more. Students will be receiving their own Little Veterinarian School plush cat and lightweight white coats to keep, learn about new medical words and envision careers in veterinary medicine. | OPEN |

Jan 8 - Feb 19 Wed 5:15 pm (7 classes) McKenzie Towne Hall SE | Little Veterinarian School - I am a Horse Vet! – Ages 7-11 | 5:15 pm - 6:15 pm | McKenzie Towne Hall 40 McKenzie Towne Blvd SE 403-781-6612 | Children and horses have a unique and special bond. Now students can learn all about horses and their care from the newest Little Veterinarian School Equine program. The first two lessons include adopting and naming a plush horse. Other practical information includes a brief overview of horses, the ideal horse farm, and many other basics. Our young veterinarians will learn about the anatomy and maintenance of a horse. Some of the key parts discussed are hooves, tail, mane, teeth, organs, and bones. The maintenance lesson includes bridling, saddling, brushing, feeding, exercising, and shoeing. They will also learn about the basics of nutrition and vet care for a horse. Finally, graduation includes careers involving horses and student presentations. Like all of our other programs, students will enjoy their own mini graduation ceremony at the end celebrating their accomplishments. | OPEN |

This 10-week program will discuss about canine/dog health. Our Little Veterinarians will get to perform dog assessments making a nose to tail exam, keeping dog healthy with proper dog nutrition, learn about ticks, caring for lacerations and learn some basic surgical skills, immunization and more! Topics on the different roles of veterinarian office team, dealing with animal emergencies, and understanding dog body language will be discussed. Graduates will get a lightweight doctor’s coat and their own premium stuffed toy dog to take home at the end of the program. | OPEN |
